Hardcore characters should navigate through this section carefully, luring Elites away from groups whenever possible. If you solely focus on killing Elites, these debuffs will grow so large that you will either get one-shot or stunlocked. Kill adds whenever possible to remove both debuff stacks. This section requires you to collect Animus from slain Elites with both debuffs active simultaneously. Once you've cleared both sides, you'll be directed to the lower floor of the Fallen Temple. Just beware of these effects as you progress. You'll have to clear both sides to proceed, so both debuffs will be active for the final section.

The right side will impose a crowd control debuff, causing stuns and other control-impairing effects to last longer on you. Clearing the left side will impose a weakness debuff, causing you to take more damage from enemies if you haven't killed any demons recently. Both sections play identically to one another, but the main difference is the debuff you'll receive.
